The Gift of Salvation

Salvation refers to the deliverance from sin and its consequences, achieved through faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9). In Christian belief, all humanity has sinned and fallen short of God's standards (Romans 3:23). Salvation is the process by which we are reconciled to God, forgiven of our sins, and granted eternal life with Him (John 3:16; 1 John 1:9)

What is Salvation?

According to the Word of God, sin separates us from God (Isaiah 59:2). The Bible teaches that the penalty for sin is spiritual death and eternal separation from God (Romans 6:23). Therefore, salvation is necessary to restore a broken relationship with God, avoiding the consequences of sin and receiving the gift of eternal life (John 14:6; Romans 5:8).

Why Must One Be Saved?

1. Forgiveness of Sins: All past, present, and future sins are forgiven by God.

2. Restored Relationship with God: You become a child of God and enjoy a personal relationship with Him.

3. Eternal Life: Assurance of spending eternity with God after physical death.

4. Peace and Purpose: Inner peace, hope, and new purpose in life through God’s guidance and presence.

5. Empowerment to Live Righteously: The Holy Spirit empowers believers to live according to God’s will.

How to be Saved

1. Recognize the Need: Acknowledge personal sinfulness and the inability to save oneself (Romans 3:10; Psalm 51:5).

2. Believe in Jesus Christ: Have faith that Jesus, the Son of God, died on the cross for the forgiveness of sins and rose from the dead (Romans 10:9; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

3. Repent: Turn away from sin and commit to following Jesus (Acts 3:19; Luke 13:3).

4. Confess Faith: Openly confess belief in Jesus as Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9-10; Matthew 10:32).

5. Receive Salvation: Accept God’s gift of salvation by faith, trusting in His grace rather than personal merit (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5).
